Opportunities Back home

While there are number of options available to those returning home, unfortunately, opportunity at the HOD level is seldom found. As such these positions are filled up from within the company.

Those who have served overseas looking at the opportunities here are put off with the compensations offered compared to what they were earning abroad. Well, it is only a matter of conversion to the rupee value that makes it more attractive to work overseas.

There is also a good difference in the work standards and culture between here and abroad. While responsibility levels are much higher there, there is a much higher humane touch here in Indian companies. It still is pitiable situation that the Indian hospitality industry is way behind other industries that attract talent from within the hospitality industry, as far as the compensation package is concerned.

One of the best options for someone returning home after working for a few years could be to set up his own business. However, if he does not want to risk the investment, he could scout for a good partner to work with. We get inquiries form stand alone restaurants who are looking for good staff to work for. They not only offer good positions but also challenging and interesting roles.
